After five successful editions of the ‘Illuminade’, Amsterdam Light Festival has decided to do things a little differently this year. For the first time, the land exposition will take place at the Marineterrein Amsterdam, an amazing new location within walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station.
From 14 December until 7 January, this historical place will be illuminated by various light art installation. The land exposition is freely accessible from 17:00 o’clock until 22:00 o’clock. (On New Year’s Eve, the Marineterrein will close its doors at 20:00 o’clock.) You are free to explore the terrain on your own; there is no route that you have to adhere to. If you feel like you might need some direction, there are guided tours available.
The festival also hosts an array of artists talks, performances and readings at the Marineterrein Amsterdam. To make sure you don’t get thirsty or hungry, there are multiple possibilities to eat something or warm up with a nice cup of mulled wine.
