What are the opening and close dates of the festival?
This year, the water exposition starts on 30 November 2017 and ends on 21 January 2018 (lit daily from 5pm until 11pm). The land expostion on Marineterrein Amsterdam can be visited from 14 December 2017 until 7 January 2018 (lit daily from 5pm until 10pm).

Can the festival be visited during the holidays?
During the Christmas holidays (25 and 26 December) the opening times are regular: the water exposition is open from 5pm until 11pm, the land exposition is open from 5pm until 10pm. On New Year’s Eve all the artworks will be lit until 8pm.

Do I have to pay admission?
Both exhibitions are accessible for visitors free of charge. Although, the water route is best experienced from the water by boat. There are several canal cruise companies that offer a special Water Colors cruise for the festival. The boat tickets sales typically starts in mid-October. The Official Partners of festival and their offers can be found at the booking page. Prices may differ per company.
When walking or cycling along the water route the artworks can be viewed free of charge. De exhibition at Marineterrein Amsterdam can also be visited with a guide, a special collaboration with Artifex.

Is the festival wheelchair accessible?
For anyone in a wheelchair who wants to visit the water exposition of the festival, it is recommended to book at Blue Boat. Shipping company Blue Boat has a boat that is wheelchair accessible. Please note that seating is limited. The land exposition at Marineterrein Amsterdam is fully wheelchair accessible.
