Amsterdam Light Festival has two different expositions this year, a water exposition and a land exposition. Both will take place in the heart of Amsterdam.
Most canal companies that offer a Water Colors Cruise have a boarding area near Amsterdam Central Station. Please be mindful when checking your ticket for the correct location! Does the boat leave from a different location? Use the Google Maps route planner or 9292 for the possibilities and departing times of the public transportation.
The land exposition will take place at the Marineterrein Amsterdam. This location is within walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station, via the east side of the station, past the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel and the public library (OBA) in the direction of NEMO (approx. 10 minutes walk). From both Nemo and Dijksgracht there will be a ferry between 4:45 and 10:30 pm to take visitors to and from the Marineterrein.
Although this location is within walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station, but also easy to reach when using public transportation. From Central Station you can either take bus 22 (to Indische Buurt, make sure to get out at Kattenburgerplein) or tram 26 (to IJburg, exit at Kattenburgerstraat). Please keep in mind that from the tram stop, it’s still a short walk to the land exposition.
Both the land exposition and water exposition are accessible with a wheelchair. If you want to see the water exposition, the best thing to do is to book a Water Colors Cruise with Blue Boat. This canal company offers a boat that is wheelchair accessible. Blue Boat departs near Leidseplein, which is easy to reach by taking tram 1, 2 or 5.
