Dancing With Trees

Dancing With Trees

At first sight this installation appears to be a dancing tree that is projected on the greenhouse of Hortus Botanicus. After a closer look you will realize that there is a person in a special booth, moving the tree through arm movements.

Reanna Niceforo and Phil Sutherland create a symbiotic relationship between the audience and their artwork, where the audience becomes the wind that makes the tree dance and the tree itself at the same time. Dancing With Trees tries to create an emotional and spiritual connection with nature. When you feel connected to your own environment there is an increased chance you will care for it and protect it. This can result in a foundation for a sustainable future.
