Greenpigs

‘Pigs might fly’ is an expression to indicate that something is very likely never going to happen. And yet GREEN PIGS from BIBI is made out of flying pigs in a tree. This funny installation that might remind you of a satirical cartoon contains rich layers of symbolism as well.

The glowing pigs become a symbol of recycling and positivism, while satirically confronting the climate change cynics as well, states jury member Tim Molloy. He continues to state that bioluminescence is contributing to the development of sustainable techniques. Bioluminescent fungi are used for sustainable street lighting for example.
