Youichi Sakamoto

9+1 is a Japanese artist collective founded in 2017 consisting of not only visual artists, but also architects, fashion designers, scientists, craftsmen and programmers. Its members met at a ‘hackathon’ and since then, they search together for experimental ways to connect traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern technology. Craftscape was designed and created under the guidance of multidisciplinary artist and engineer Youichi Sakamoto (1982). Sakamoto lives and works in Tokyo where he creates interactive installations.
