The Open Call for Edition 15 (festival 2026-2027) takes in the Spring of 2025.
Anyone; whether you're a professional light artist or upcoming talent. We encourage creatives with diverse background, gender identities and ethnicities to participate.
When the Open Call takes place, you can download the artist briefing. Here you can find the criteria for your concept, such as technical feasibility and connection to the theme. You will receive an email with a submission ID and information on the next steps. We do not accept submission via mail or in other ways.
These can be found in the artist briefing, which will be available when the Open Call is open.
1. The call opens in the Spring
2. During round 1 the connection with the artist briefing is reviewed
3. If you're selected for round 2, additional technical and financial information is requested
4. Afterwards, 20-25 concepts are selected and the production phase begins
5. In January the selected artists are invited to Amsterdam for the kick-off days
6. At the end of November/beginning of December it is showtime!
No, to ensure everyone is able to participate you do not need to pay for submitting a concept.
The production costs of the artworks, travel costs and an artist fee. You can find more information in the artist briefing.
Yes, you can. If you would like to receive feedback per concept, you will need to request the artist briefing again, to receive a new submission ID for each submission.
No, the Open Call has already taken place and the festival team and artists are currently busy with the preparations for both editions.
