Light Garden
The Light Garden is the festival heart of Edition 13. In this special courtyard you will find two light artworks, an information point and at Dignita you can warm up with a drink or a bite. Every Friday in December the Light Garden Fridays take place, with music and lectures. Come visit!
LIGHT GARDEN FRIDAYS
Every Friday in December, various musicians and artists will perform in the tent. On a stone's throw, in the greenhouse inside of the Diaconate, you can listen to short lectures (in Dutch) by scientists and other experts, who share their vision on the theme of Rituals. Entry is free, but space is limited. is geheel gratis, maar plekken zijn beperkt. Click on one of the buttons below to view the programme per date.
The Light Garden Fridays are organized in collaboration with the Protestant Diaconate, VU Amsterdam, University of Utrecht, Citykerk and various speakers and artists.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Light Garden is located in the Hoftuin (courtyard) of de Protestantse Diaconie at Nieuwe Herengracht 18. The Light Garden is opened during the entire festival period (28.11.2024-19.01.2025), from 4.30-10.00 p.m. Entry to the garden, musical performances and lectures is free.
Dignita (restaurant) is opened from Thursday - Saturday and daily during the Christmas break, from 5.00-22.00 p.m. All income generated benefits the festival foundation and social projects of Dignita.
