As a cultural foundation without structural subsidies, every edition is a challenge to organise. Also this year, we need your support to fund the art, artists, technical crew and our employees. That is why we offer two exclusive light artworks for sale: the Limited Edition Deepam, the light and a unqiue miniature piece Ciao! Piccolo.
From this light artworks (that is showcased right now!) a Limited Edition copy has been made. The work is inspired on the traditional oil lamps, central in the Indian light festival. In Indian culture lighting a lamp, 'deepam', symbolizes the victory of good over evil. A fitting message in the 750th anniversary year of the city.
Limited Edition: Deepam, the light is has been made by the prominent Indian artist Vibhor Sogani volledig by hand. It is made from polished brass and can be placed both indoors and outdoors. The lamp has an edition of 75 pieces and costs € 1950,- (ex. VAT), containing a unique number and signature of the artist.
Of the artwork Ciao! Dutch artists Pim Drinkenburg created a miniature: Ciao! Piccolo. This work is also part of Edition 13! It symbolises the universal, non-verbal gesture of greeting, welcoming and saying goodbye. The artwork has been put in one of the busiest spots of the city, the Central Station area, for a reason; daily, over 200,000 people pass.
Ciao! Piccolo has a dimmable warm-while light, by which it emits a soft glow. The work is 40 cm high and the price is € 199,- (ex. VAT).
