That was it: Amsterdam Light Festival Edition 13 is officially over. We can look back on a successful edition, but we are curious to hear your thoughts, too!
EDITION 13: RITUALS
The thirteenth edition took place from 28 November 2024 until 19 January 2025 and revolved around the theme of rituals. Approximately 1 milion visitors have enjoyed the 27 artworks, which were made especially for Amsterdam. With their works, artists from all over the world told the story of Rituals. LOOKING BACK AND AHEAD
Next to the route and festival experiences, the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundatin organises special projects for the city and her inhabitants. For instance, we organise an education project every year, where primary school children participate in a series of workshops. They learn all about light, art, the city and they get to make a tangible contribution to an artwork in the route. Moreover, during the gouden lichttour (a cruise for seniors, a collaboration with Stichting Gouden Dagen) the children tell the stories about the artworks. A beautiful examples of the connecting nature of light art.
Next year we will illuminate the canals of Amsterdam again. Edition 14 will take place from 27 November 2025 until 18 January 2026. The theme will be announced at a later stage.
