Edition 12 has begun! The 24 unique artworks, revolving around the theme LOADING…, can be admired from water or land until 21 January. What will your experience be like?
24 LIGHT ARTWORKS
For this year’s edition we have asked artists to consider the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology on our everyday lives. The result? 24 unique light artworks, all tailor-made to our festival and its iconic route over the canals. With one of our cruise or walk experiences, you’ll get to know all about the artworks, artists and theme: ‘LOADING… Revealing Art, AI and Tech.’
HOP ON BOARD
What’s better than cruising the iconic canals of Amsterdam? Cruising the canals of Amsterdam adorned with light art! You can choose from many different types of boats and experiences. Book with one of our official partners to ensure yourself of a smooth ride.
GO FOR A WALK
Take a stroll through wintery Amsterdam and admire the artworks from land. You can even interact with some of them! Download our festival app to read all about the artworks along the way, or book a guided walking tour.
GOOD TO KNOW
Edition 12 takes place from 30 November until 21 January. The lights are on every day at 17.00, from Sunday to Tuesday until 22.00h, from Wednesday to Saturday until 23.00h. From 14 December until 7 January you can find 2 more light artworks, an information point and takeaway options in our festival hub in the Hoftuin. Entry is free!
Amsterdam Light Festival is organized by an independent cultural foundation. We do not receive structural subsidies, hence, every penny that comes in goes straight back to the art. Without the contribution of our visitors, partners and sponsors, we would cease to exist.
