Jos Agasi & Noortje van den Eijnde

Dutch artists Jos Agasi (NL, 1964) and Noortje van den Eijnde (NL, 1966) worked together to create 'Making Waves'. They each have their own art practice, but share an interest in water and the behaviour of light.

Jos Agasi is a multidisciplinary artist and scenographer. His work is primarily based on personal experiences and observations, with light, reflection, and intuition playing a key role. His portfolio includes works for public spaces, temporary installations for exhibitions, and light artworks for festivals. Until 2020, he created works with collective Blauwe Uur for Oerol, Into The Great Wide Open, Van Gogh Museum and Frankfurt Luminale, among others. Since then, Jos has worked under his own name and created new work for clients including Museum De Lakenhal, Paleis 't Loo, and Hi-Lo Festival. He recently presented a permanent public artwork at Leiden University. Jos is also co-founder of the fluid collective VLOED.

Noortje van den Eijnde worked for several years as a VJ for artists such as Eefje de Visser, The Opposites and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. She then expanded her practice with various projects, such as video mapping and scenography for companies such as Silbersee, Orkater, Wunderbaum and Likeminds. Her recent collaboration with Studio Moniker and Nineties Productions; ‘To Be Continued’, was nominated for a Golden Calf. She is currently investigating how the medium of video can invite introspection and stillness and she creates immersive works in which water plays a major role.
