Yasser Ballemans

Yasser Ballemans (NL, 1981) obtained his bachelor's degree in visual arts from the art academy AKV / St. Joost (Breda), graduated in 2007 (MA visual arts) from the Sandberg Institute (Amsterdam) and followed the Mr Miyagi Curators Master Class of Showroom MAMA in Rotterdam in 2005. As a visual artist, Ballemans is interested in the role of art in rituals, such as parades, campfires, carnivals and commemorations. He therefore researches how ornaments, decorations and “old-fashioned” techniques can be used in a contemporary way.
