When there was no electricity yet in Amsterdam, lanterns were lit manually by lamplighters. During Amsterdam Light Festival 2013-2014 this phenomenon returned to Amsterdam. When dusk falls, a rower lights twenty, white, vertical candles that float on the river Amstel.
