A world of light

Wist je dat een deel van de kunstwerken na het festival de hele wereld over reist? Light Art Collection geeft de werken een nieuw podium en is dé expert op het gebied van curatie en productie van lichtkunstbelevingen wereldwijd.

A SECOND STAGE FOR ART(ISTS)

Our festival begins with the Open Call, during which we invite creative minds from all over the world to send in a concept for a light artwork. After a careful curation process, a selection of concepts is turned into light artworks that – complemented by other artworks – make up the festival route. This is all made possible with technical and financial support of the festival organisation.

We think it’s a shame to dismantle the artworks after a festival edition, or to store them away in dark depots. That’s why Light Art Collection (LAC) was established in 2017. LAC grants the artworks a second life as they travel around the globe. The income generated from these efforts enables the festival foundation to create new artworks and festival editions. At the same time, artists get the opportunity to exhibit their work internationally.

LIGHT ART COLLECTION

With over ten years of experience, our colleagues at LAC are experts in the field of curating and producing light art driven experiences. They deploy light art strategically, to aid clients in activations and placemaking. Light art attracts people, brings them together and gives them a reason to visit a certain place. In the process, clients are fully serviced, from curation and production to transporation and legal matters. Additionally, a team of technicians travels from Amsterdam with the artworks to ensure construction is done professionally.

The light art collection is being added to continuously, with artworks from the festival and elsewhere. It’s the world largest collection of light art installations; from poetic artworks to large-scale object. From Amsterdam to Australia, and from Singapore to Spain, our light artworks connect and enrich visitors worldwide!
