Light a Wish switched off until 14 Jan

Due to crowding on the route, the artwork 'Light a Wish' will be switched off until 14 January 2022. Let's keep the rest of the lights on - we can only do this together!

At the request of the City of Amsterdam we had to switch off the lights of the artwork 'Light a Wish' (by OGE Group) until 14 January 2022. The crowds are too big around this work, especially on the Nijlpaardenbrug, which makes it impossible to enforce the current Covid-19 measures.

Our mission is to illuminate Amsterdam, but we can only do this in a safe manner. That is why we ask everyone again to keep in mind the current Covid-19 measures, so the rest of our light artworks can stay on. The measures are:

What’s allowed:

  • Walking and recreational boating in the public space.
  • Maximum group size of 2 people outdoors, for walking and recreational boating (this excludes households).
  • Only on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December the maximum group size outdoors is 4 people (this excludes households).
  • 1,5 meter distance for walking and recreational boating (this excludes households).
  • The usage of the festival Route Map.
  • The usage of the festival Audio Guide.

What’s not allowed:

  • No commercial boating (canal cruises/open boats/historic boats/rental boats) until 14 January 2022.
  • No organized guided tours until 14 January 2022.

Only together we keep the city illuminated during these dark days!
