With our investment in storytelling this year, we have reached more people than ever. Edition 12 had 1 million visits – similar to last year – however, our online reach has grown by 15%. The main reasons for this growth are the increased implementation of online channels, as well as the introduction of a festival app (which has over 50.000 downloads). We hope to continue this trend in the upcoming years.
We have also connected more Amsterdam residents to our festival. Our yearly education project expanded to 1500 participating primary school children from all over Amsterdam. Next to that, after a succesfull pilot last year, the Gouden Lichttour took place again. In collaboration with Stiching Gouden Dagen, 350 seniors enjoyed a cruise, whereby children of the education project told them all about the artworks.
The dates for Edition 13 are known: from 28 November 2024 until 19 January 2025, the city will be illuminated again with unique light artworks, which will revolve around the theme of rituals. More information will follow in the coming months, via our website and social media channels!
