Underneath the bridge girders he has placed a series of light lines, programmed by an algorithm to constantly show a wide variety of colours and patterns. But these striking light lines and its smart tech are not the star of this artwork, argues Kuijer. It’s the reflection of the light in the water underneath the bridge. Combined with the surrounding lights – street lamps, buildings and traffic – it creates a fascinating spectacle.
