TAKE A REFRESHING WALK
Want to get out of the house during the Christmas holidays? Go for a walk with our festival app! The app contains walking experiences for young and old.
Discover the route with the Light Walk, which contains and audio guide and stories about the artworks. For little ones there is the Kids Walk, with fun facts about the artworks, quiz questions and a treasure hunt. Or upgrade the Light Walk with some take-away bites and drinks, with a Foodwalk. From oysters to street food and cocktails − there's something for everybody! If you want to learn more about Amsterdam along the way, we recommend a guided walking or cycling tour.
EXPERIENCE IT FROM THE WATER
Cruise the iconic canals of Amsterdam and admire the light art from the water; a unique experience for the whole family! We offer many different cruise experiences.
On a traditional Canal Boat, you're comfortable and warm, while the (audio) guide tells you all about the artworks. On an Open Boat or Boat incl. Drinks you get to see the artworks from up close. On board, the skipper or host will tell you all about the festival. For private bookings, you can plan a tailor-made cruise, with bites, drinks or even a 3-course dinner on the water. All options can be found in our ticket shop.
PLAN YOUR VISIT
Amsterdam Light Festival Edition 14 takes place until Sunday 18 January. During the Christmas holidays (20 December til 4 January) the lights will stay on longer, from 4.30 p.m. until 11.00 p.m. The information points on the route are open daily from 4.30 p.m. until 9.00 p.m. There are a few exceptions: on 25 December the info point is closed. On 31 December the lights are on until 9.00 p.m. and the info points are closed as well.
