The Open Call is live
As of today, the Open Call for Amsterdam Light Festival Edition 16 (2027-2028) is open. This year we're hosting two types of calls: find out which one is right for you and join in!
Open Call
We invite creatives from all over the world to present their work on the iconic canals of Amsterdam. While we're primarily looking for new proposals, we're also open to existing works. In the artist briefing you can find all the information needed, from selection process and deadlines, to budget and inspiration.
Open Call X Amarte
This call is specifically meant for makers based in the Netherlands who are new to the medium of light art. With support of the Amarte Fonds we invite makers to develop a new light artwork aimed at walking visitors. Your submission starts with downloading the artist briefing (make sure to download the briefing for the right call). The deadline for both Open Calls is 7 December, 23:59h (Central Eastern Time).
