What is the Foodwalk?

There are 6 different types of Foodwalks, two of which are dinners:

  • Streetfood Walk: Pick up four streetfood-style bites along the way (vegetarian options available)
  • Amsterdam Walk: Pick up three typical Amsterdam snacks and drinks along the way (vegetarian and 0.0% options available)
  • Cocktail Walk: Pick up three signature cocktails along the way (0.0% options available)
  • Oyster Walk: Pick up 4x2 oysters along the way, prepared in different ways
  • Early Dinner Walk: Enjoy a 2-course dinner before your walk
  • Late Dinner Walk: Enjoy a 2-course dinner after your walk

When is the Foodwalk?

This varies depending on the walk. Here's an overview:

  • Streetfood Walk: Thursday to Saturday, start between 5.00 PM and 7.00 PM, last pick-up at 9.30 PM
  • Oyster Walk: Thursday to Saturday, start between 5.00 PM and 7.00 PM, last pick-up at 9.30 PM
  • Amsterdam Walk: Sunday to Wednesday, start between 5.00 PM and 7.00 PM, last pick-up at 10.00 PM
  • Cocktail Walk: Wednesday to Saturday, start from 5.00 PM, last pick-up at 11.00 PM
  • Early Dinner Walk: Daily, dinner at 5.00 PM
  • Late Dinner Walk: Daily, dinner at 9.00 PM

What do I get exactly?

Each walk offers a different type of snacks/drinks. The Light Walk (€6.99 value) is included in all walks, with the route, audio guide, and information about the light artworks and artists.

  • Streetfood Walk: Four streetfood-style bites, from steak tartare on toast to pastrami sandwiches (vegetarian options available)
  • Oyster Walk: Two oysters at four locations, with different toppings such as pomegranate mignonette and passion fruit
  • Amsterdam Walk: Three local snacks and drinks, such as bitterballen, jenever, and cheese cubes (vegetarian and 0.0% options available)
  • Cocktail Walk: Three signature cocktails, from mixes with ginger beer to gin and tonic-like cocktails
  • Early Dinner Walk: A starter and main course at a restaurant with a menu of your choice
  • Late Dinner Walk: A main course and dessert at a restaurant with a menu of your choice

How does the app work?

  • Download the app (do this first!!!)
  • Click on the activation link in your confirmation email (download the app first!)
  • Tap "Send"
  • The map will unlock automatically
  • Click on the stamp icon in the top-right corner
  • You can use this to scan the QR codes at the restaurants and collect your snacks/drinks

How do I find the restaurants?

The restaurants are listed in the app. In your confirmation email, there is a link that unlocks your specific Foodwalk. Important: only click on the link after you've downloaded the app, otherwise it won't work!

The link doesn’t work, help!

Sometimes, you may need to close the app and restart it.

If you get an error message like “this link has already been used” or “this code is invalid”, contact our customer service and they will send you a new link. The contact details are at the bottom of the page.

I have a food allergy, can I still do the Foodwalk

Most Foodwalks are available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate food allergies. This is simply not feasible for the restaurants, as they also serve regular customers alongside the Foodwalk participants.

Can I sit down?

The Streetfood, Oyster, Amsterdam, and Cocktail Walk are take-away walks. This means that there are no reserved seats at the restaurants. If a seat is offered, it's a kind gesture from the location!
