What is Amsterdam Light Festival?

Amsterdam Light Festival is a light art festival that takes place every winter, sine 2012. The route consists of 20-30 light artworks, created especially for the festival. The artists are selected based on their Open Call submission (for more info about the call, click here), or they are invited by the festival.

Who organises Amsterdam Light Festival?

The festival is organised by a foundation that is active year-round to enrich and connect people through light art. Read more about it here.

When is Amsterdam Light Festival?

The next edition - Edition 13 - of Amsterdam Light Festival will take place from 28 November 2024 until 19 January 2025.

What can I see and do?

The route with can be experienced from the land or the water. During the festive period and at special events, extra activities are organized.

Are the cruise- and walk routes different?

No, they are the same!

Where do I find the route?

The route (including descriptions and audio) can be purchased at the start of the festival. As a cultural foundation, we are dependent on our visitors' contributions.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets for Edition 13 can be purchased online, as of October 2024.
