On this page you will find information about cruise and walk tickets for Amsterdam Light Festival.


Where can I purchase tickets for Amsterdam Light Festival Edition 12?

You can find various walk and cruise experiences in our ticket shop, which you can find here, or via the button below.


How much is a ticket?

Walk: the festival app is free, you can purchase the route map in the app for €7,99 (you can use the app for sailing with your own boat, too). Tickets for guided walking tours are €21.50 for adults and €12.50 for children until 12 y/o.

Cruise: tickets for canal cruises and (semi) open/historic boats are available from €26,50, children 4 - 12 y/o are €13,25, children from 0 - 3 y/o are free. For the price of a personalized cruise from our private/group cruise category you will need to contact the boat company directly.

Can I book tickets by phone?

No, it is not possible to make reservations by phone. You can book tickets here, contact our customer service, or visit one of our information stands on the route to get assistance with your online order (see locations below).

I do not have a smartphone for the digital map. What now?

At one of our information stands you can purchase a printed map. Please note that we only have small quantities of the map available as they are only meant for visitors without a (modern) mobile phone.

Where can I find the information stands?

At the following locations during the festival from 30 November till 21 January:

  • Stoperaplein (Thu-Sun + 23.12 till 07.01 every day, 4.00-9.00pm)
  • Hoftuin (14.12 till 07.01 every day, 4.00-9.00pm, closed 18, 19, 20 Dec)

What are your payment options?

In our ticket shop it is possible to pay with iDeal, Visa and Mastercard te betalen.

How will I receive my ticket(s)?

The tickets will be sent to you by email (only to the main booker).

Do I need to print my ticket(s)?

No, this is not necessary. Please show your ticket(s) from your smartphone and save the trees.

I have purchased tickets, but haven’t received them. What do I do?

Tickets can end up in your spam folder or unwanted email. Cannot find your tickets there either? Then contact customer service via WhatsApp (+31 20 620 69 08), call the aforementioned number (open Mon-Fri 4-8pm, Sat-Sun 1-5pm) or send an email to tickets@amsterdamlightfestival.com (open Mon-Fri 12-8pm, Sat-Sun 1-5pm). Please mention the email address with which you placed the order, your first and last name and the product it concerns.

My money was written off twice, what now?

Please contact customer service via WhatsApp (+31 20 620 69 08), call the aforementioned number (open Mon-Fri 4-8pm, Sat-Sun 1-5pm) or send an email to tickets@amsterdamlightfestival.com (open Mon-Fri 12-8pm, Sat-Sun 1-5pm). Mention the transaction number on your bank statement. Customer service will trace your order and refund the money.

Can I change my ticket to a different date or time?

This is possible up to 24 hours prior to your cruise. In the confirmation email of your order you can find the button ‘Manage your order’. Then go to ‘Booking details’ and select ‘Edit booking’. Example: Person X bought a ticket for 3 December 5.00 pm with Blue Boat. They have until 2 December 5.00 pm to change to another date and time with Blue Boat.

Can I cancel my ticket(s)?

No, purchased tickets cannot be cancelled.

What happens in case of force majeure?

In this case - such as the temporary cancellation of the festival due to Covid - Amsterdam Light Festival will cancel the then valid cruise tickets. Tickets bought in the Amsterdam Light Festival ticket shop will be refunded within 4 weeks after the festival. Tickets bought with a voucher can get their money back at the company they got the voucher from. Please check out our terms & conditions for more info (see below).

What if my experience/product is cancelled?

If a cruise is cancelled the boat company will contact the ticket buyer to reschedule to another date and time.


Where do I go if I want to cruise with a group?

The biggest canal boats have a capacity of 60 to 80 persons. For larger groups, or private cruises you can pick from different boat companies and possibilities. Check out the ‘Private/Group Cruise’ category in our ticket shop.

Can I go for a walk in a large group?

Yes you can, with our festival app. It is not clear yet whether we will offer walking guides this year.


Do you offer discounts to students?

Yes, with CJP you get 25% discount on a cruise. Click here for more information on the CJP website.

Do you offer discounts to groups, minors and seniors?

We do not offer discounts for groups and seniors. Moste cruise products are 50% cheaper for children until 12 y/o and free for kids ages 0-3 y/o.

How do I use a discount or promo code?

First, select the desired products and times. In step 2 of the ordering process you can find a field where you can fill in your code. The discount is deducted from the total amount automatically.

How do I use multiple discount or promo codes?

It is not possible to add multiple discount or promo codes. Please create an extra order to use your extra promo code.

My order was not successful. Can I use my code again?

After 45 minutes you can use your code again if you have started, but not finished an order. If you have cancelled the order by yourself it is possible to use the code again after 5 minutes.
